All these factors play a significant role in how long your system will last you. You can expect your furnace and/or air conditioner to last approximately 15 years. A heat pump can last 16+ years.

The brand and makes of heating and cooling appliances have different prices; however, labour is the other part of new appliance installation. If your old system is in the mid-efficiency range and you are switching to a highly efficient system, the labour will be a little higher.
